Two positions are open for a paid summer research opportunity in the summer of 2014. CCU Biology majors are encouraged to apply for a 5-7 week research experience in plant molecular biology. Research will be performed in the Biology Department at Colorado State University, and will be under my supervision as well as the host-scientists. Airfare, on-campus housing, and a stipend will be provided.
Possible research projects include (1) microRNA regulation of selenium stress response in plants, (2) role of the proteasome in selenium tolerance

Although not strictly enforced, students should be entering their junior or senior year in the Fall of 2014. Ideally, students will have already taken at least two of the following: genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a plant related class. Deadline to apply is April 25th, 2014.
